Ceri Worts
Ceri is a 32 year old accounting, communications and human resource management tutor from Christchurch. He’s been playing the game of pool seriously for the past ten years, with initial ambitions to make it to the top of the ranking lists in New Zealand. Slowly but surely, he made his way up these ladders, and in March 2004 reached the top spot on the NZ 9-Ball list. More than three years later, he is still #1 on that list, and has now claimed the number one spot on the 3 other ranking lists in Australasia (Oceania 8-Ball, Oceania 9-Ball, New Zealand 8-Ball).
Mr. Worts’ game has reached a new level over the past year. He has dominated the scene in Oceania, winning both of the National titles in New Zealand, racking up his eighth consecutive South Island Championship, and becoming the first Kiwi ever to win the Australian Open 9-Ball Champs. He was awarded “Player of the Series” when the Pot Blacks defended their Trans Tasman Trophy against the Australian Team last year, and he remains undefeated in all tournaments on home soil since April 2006. He also has a fantastic record when making it to the last match of a tournament, having won nine out of the last ten finals he’s played.
Ceri has what it takes to be an extremely marketable commodity. He is likeable, humble, and presentable, has good communication skills, and plays the game in a very unique way. His cueing technique is vastly different from most of the top players in this country and in the world, and although unorthodox, it's very effective. At the 2005 World 9-Ball Champs in Taiwan he created a name for himself by performing every break shot behind his back, and consequently defeated two of the world’s top 9-Ball players: Marcus Chamat (Sweden) and Gandy Valle (Philippines).
Worts has another string to his bow: the ability to perform a vast array of trick shots. He has created a DVD including approximately 90 different tricks, which he has shown to several of the top Australasian players with very encouraging results. Nobody in this part of the world to the best of his knowledge has produced anything like this, and his grand finale trick is something that only a small number of players in the world have captured on video.
Ceri has enrolled in The Monk's Special Training camp to prepare for both the US Open and the World 9 Ball Championships. In order to qualify for The Monk's Special Training Camp one must be a world class player. This "Camp" consist of thirty consecutive days of isolation during which time, one is in training for ten hours of each day.
Now is the time to talk to The Monk about sponsoring this fine young player. Ceri Worts has the track record to suggest he will be a world champion. He knows how to win and understands the concepts of marketing. If you are interested in having Mr. Worts represent your product, contact The Monk today.
