“Let Me Help you make it to the top”

In order for you to reach the top of your game, you must pass through the Four Stages of Pocket Billiards. No man or woman will ever reach highest level without the mastery of the Four Stages of Pocket Billiards.

Stage one: SHOTMAKING.

We begin our experience when we became a shot maker. A good shot maker only cares about making the shot in front of him. This helps us to improve our ball pocketing. Most players stay in this stage for about a year. Then they realize that shot making is not enough to win games. They see the need to play a little position. But first they must master shot making.

I had a player skip the first stage of pocket billiards and begin her training in the second stage. After a time, I realized she needed to go back and master shot making. So I created the twelve-ball exercise and the fourteen-ball exercise which is featured in The Lesson just for her.

When you practice, spend some time in the first stage of pocket billiards. Have some fun making tough shots. A great way to practice shot making is to play rotation or eight ball in order. If you match up with an inferior player, play eight ball in rotation while he plays straight out.

It seems like there always comes a time in a match when you have to “come with a shot”. A good shot maker is fun to watch. Don’t skip this stage. Go back to it from time to time and enjoy the spectacular shot.

I have created a wonderful dvd on this stage. It is called: Bring Your Game to its Highest Level.

Stage Two THE FOUR STROKES OF POOL.

This is the one stage most players skip. They move from SHOTMAKING to CUE BALL SPEED. We must master the Four Strokes of Pool if we are ever to reach the top of our game.

The stroke determines the track line of the cue ball. You will never be able to master cue ball speed (position play) if you don’t master the Four Strokes of Pool.

The stroke determines the speed of the cue ball. If you are not using the right stroke, your cue ball will not reach the location you intend. This affects safety play. The stroke also has everything to do with banking and kicking.

The four strokes are:

Follow stroke

Punch stroke

Draw stroke

Spin stroke.

There are four draw strokes within the draw.

In your practice session you should spend time with the four strokes of pool. In my Lesson Book there are many patterns that help you develop this important skill.

I have two dvds devoted to The Four Strokes of Pool.

Stage three CUE BALL SPEED.

Once you master the strokes, you can then begin to master position play. Until you become a good position player, you will not be running a lot of rack, nor will you have the ability to control the table.

So often players will learn to play position by using extreme English or spin and this will not always hold up when the pressure is on. When we use English, we must allow for deflection on the cue ball, throw on the object ball, and we must develop the instincts to measure the distance the spinning cue ball will travel when it contacts the rails. It is far better to use the stroke.

Develop the ability to feel the stroke. Develop the ability to anticipate the sound of the stroke. Use feel and sound to determine how far the cue ball will go. Once you have this instinct, you will know immediately if you have hit the shot well. I have filled my Lesson Book with speed exercises.

When you practice, you should focus on one specific stage, in other words, today, we will work on Shot Making or the Four Strokes of Pool or Cue Ball Speed. Design your training so you can master The Four Stages of Pocket Billiards.

I have a dvd on Cue Ball Speed. Go through this material and master Cue Ball Speed. You will be smiling in the winners circle when you do.

Take The Time To Master Cue Ball Speed

Stage Four MASTERING SELF.

You have heard it said, “thou I conquer a thousand men a thousand times I am not the master until I conquer self”. And in pool, this is the final stage. We must conquer self before we can conquer anyone else. And this comes from taking the time to develop the skills that will serve you during your battle. It is tough to stand over a shot and not really know what to do. When you are not sure of the path, you will tread with uncertainty. A tentative player hangs balls in the pocket. You will not succeed if you have not mastered self.

There is no mystery when you study the great players of today. They have all gone through The Four Stages of Pool. They took the time to master each one. Now you have a dvd series that deals with this all important experience.

I will help you travel through each stage until you reach that wonderful placed called The Winner’s Circle.
