I believe we deal
with a special group of players. Our mailing list numbers several
thousand yet not all readers open this newsletter. But I believe a
special group does. And it is to these wonderful friends, I share my
strengths, hopes and experiences. |
Are you ready for a world class performance?
I am looking for a student who possesses a singleness of purpose and can visualize the completion of his/her journey to excellence in pocket billiards. What would it be like if you were a Master and could perform like a master? What would it be like to compete in an arena reserved only for masters who respect the fine art of this game? Stop for a moment and see yourself standing at the table with a complete understanding of what you want to accomplish. You have the ability to carry that out. What would it be like if everyone in your poolroom admired you for your disciplined approach to this game? This could be you when you complete the Masters of Art in Pocket Billiards program.
You must be able to commit to one purpose. No one reaches the top of any field without a clear understanding of what it is they want to achieve. In other words, you must want this more than a person who is held under water wants air. And you must be willing to make this your number one priority. Nothing is more important than your willingness to train. This is your year to break through and shine.
If you know the difference between the one who plays this game, and the one who pursues excellence than I am interested in you.
If you understand the difference between shooting the shots, and experiencing the shots, than I am interested in you.
If the art of this game is more important to you than the trophies you have won, then I am interested in you.
For you are ready to become a master
When the student is ready the master will appear. If you have a vision of yourself playing among the masters of this game, then you are ready to pursue excellence in pocket billiards. Many are called yet few are chosen. You are chosen if you say, “Yes” to the calling. To be willing to train puts you in a unique category. You will know you are ready if you understand this article. You are ready only one time in your life. Do not let this opportunity pass you by. He who hesitates is lost.
You can design your own training program based upon the material found in The Lesson book. Be faithful and know that you will become a master. You cannot measure your ability by the games you have won, or the tournament victories. You are only a master when you can demonstrate the skill level outlined in the Profile of a master.

Click here and I will email you a copy of the Profile of a Master and The Performance of a Master.
The cost to join The Masters of Art in Pocket Billiards program is $2025.00. This is a complete training program. You can follow the journey of a Master on your own, with just The Lesson and perhaps a dvd. I am not trying to sell you a program here. I am trying to inspire you to a high level that will provide you with the deep satisfaction you feel when you accomplishes something so personal as to become a master. In all things, I wish you the very best.
Herman's Back
That little voice that rings around in your head from time to time has a personality and I have given him a name. “Herman”. He thinks he knows which shots are the right ones, and has become the official guardian of my mistakes. In fact, Herman will be quick to point out how you are about to make a mistake even before you make a decision.
I once leaned into a nice snip draw stop shot, and he whispered that I should use force follow and explained that this gave me a better chance to pocket the ball. I thanked him and changed my approach to a force follow. Just as I was about to deliver the winning stroke, Herman came back with, “you really should stay with what was first on your mind”. My force follow was lost somewhere between the synapse and the right mind and ended up as a brilliant miss cue. But I fooled old Herman and still made the ball.
It had taken me years to over come Herman and his tricky ways. Through meditation and concentration exercises I finally rid myself of this annoying demon and was able to see the shot, know the stroke, and shoot the shot. I had my freedom.
Now I am back in training. I am back on the table and Herman is back. This time, he has a girlfriend and a couple of illegitimate kids. He also is bilingual. And they all talk at once. I have a mountain to climb and when I reach the summit, Herman and his family will be tossed over the side.
You can read about Herman in my book "Point the Way". If you sign up a friend for my newsletter I will give both of you a free copy of this 3-book. Sharing our experiences helps us to grow. Thanks.
Mystery eMail
I received this email
from Mike. His address was invalid but the questions were great. So I will
answer them here and hope Mike finds his way to this newsletter.
When you get down on
your shot, everything in line, where is the tip of your cue in relation to the
cue ball? And do you then move
the tip to apply the proper English? What does this do to your point of aim?
When you get in line with the shot, you must be in
line with the tip of your cue. If you want to use one cue tip right English,
you must line up that way. You do not make an adjustment once you are over the
ball. In my next newsletter, I have an excellent article on the pre shot
routine and how to set up.
