Double Your Fun

A pool player is really two people. One that shoots the way he is capable of shooting, and one that can't make three balls. Have you ever heard a pool player say? “I don’t know how I will play it all depends on who shows up, the good player or the bad player.

I was playing a match one time where I could not miss. I ran out from everywhere. Then a part of me saw the score and I changed heads with myself. From that point on I could not make three balls.

One time the room owner saw me practicing by myself. I was running racks all over the place. After a while, he looked over and saw that I couldn't make three balls. He told the ball taker to put me on the two player rate.

The reason we are not sure which player will show up at the match is because we have never really worked totally on the fundamentals of this game. Therefore, if our stance is slightly off, we will have a hard time making shots. When this happens, we will think some deep dark disturbing demon has entered our head and is making us self-destruct. In reality, we have a stance problem that causes a poor hit on the cue ball. Once we begin to deliver a poor hit, our brain has a problem. It knows what we want to do but cannot deliver the quality stroke because you are out of line.

Strive for quality of hit. It is vital to a winning performance. Have a plan. Be sure you know what you came for. If you read my book, "I Came To Win" you will understand how this principle works.

In the learning process the sighting and stance is most important. In the scoring process, speed is the most important. This should be your focus. If your stance is off, you will have to turn your focus to sighting. Sighting should be automatic. Speed is what you want to master. Speed is the vital link to scoring.

Master the simple things and you are The Master

Great news at The Monk Billiard Academy

I've been working on the Monk Masters University membership site for the past three months. Melvyn Tan has joined me on this project. He flew in from Singapore and is diligently working on the University site.

Level one Bronze - will feature knowledge. I have produced over a hundred and one classes(101)you can take. This will enable you to acquire vast amounts of knowledge on pocket billiards. A must level for all pool players.

Level two. Silver - features knowledge applied. In level two, you will be able to go through the entire Lesson Book in animated form. You can log on to any lesson you desire. Click on the cue, and watch the lesson performed for you. Over a hundred and sixty illustrations. This is a remarkable training program. This level also features the Four Points of Power program. Here you will be able to re train your mind so you are ready to enter the Enlightenment stage.

Level three Gold - offers you the Masters program. The Masters Teaching program. A step by step training program with The Monk and other masters. You also are eligible to become a Monk distributor and increase your income.

The Monk Masters University membership site offers you complete levels of training. There is so much material involved in this training program it would be too much to list here. The MMU should be launched by June 20th. I will keep you posted.

A Letter from a friend for all of us,

Hi Tim,

The information you sent me about the four strokes of pool is very use full. Especially the information about relying on the stance to make the shot. Here is what i came up with, from the tip of your toe to your dominant eye or chin (which ever you prefer)you should create a vertical axis completely perpendicular with the floor and the shoulders. Your eyes should create a horizontal axis parallel with table.

From the vertical axis I created with my eye and toe i put my shoulder, elbow and wrist into that vertical plain. This allows me to roll the ball on true vertical axis.

what do you think about my new stance that you helped create?

Welcome to the first USBarSports Newsletter! We are expanding our coverage and changing our name. You can always find us as MNBilliards.com but we are expanding our realm to include darts and poker. Dart players are in dire need of the same services we provide to pool players and we are developing sections of our website and magazine to give them the info they need to further enjoy their sport. We are working hard to bring more than ever to MNBilliards. Bar poker leagues are exploding across the upper mid west and we will provide detailed info for poker players as well. We want to bring more value to our advertiser and expand our contact base. We value your input and look forward to hearing your comments.
