When someone wants to compete with you, you need to have the enough self-respect to destroy that person. That is the persona you must develop, therefore, you can never play this game for fun. It has to be to win every game. Every shot, every effort, every move, must be I Came to Win.

I have known players who have this ability. It comes out in their game when they compete. No more games. Everything is I CAME TO WIN.

With that in mind, you must be free to shoot the shot as you know how. Therefore, you cannot be fearful, anxious, intense, doubtful or hopeful. You have only one choice. You must have a raw unemotional approach to delivering the stroke.

Why are long shots so hard?

We miss long shots because we do not hit the cue ball with a center ball hit. When the cue ball travels a long distance, any spin will cause the ball to curve and we miss. You must stroke through the center of the cue ball on long shots. And remember, “look good shooting it”.

The Monk is back in the States.

I landed in LA just in time to make the full trot run to customs and then to the bus, and then to terminal one, ramp 12 and for the first time in my life I was the last person on the plane. I came running down the ramp and the ticket taker said, “You made it just in time Mr. Miller”. I went to North Carolina to set up my office East Coast office.

On my return trip they bumped me off the LA flight to New Zealand and booked me into Sydney Australia. This added eleven more hours to my trip. My bags arrived the following day. The trip was like a nightmare.
