First Stage - Lonely Conflict

I once knew a pool player who was stuck in the Lonely Conflict Stage. I offered to work with her and she told me she could not learn anything from me because I was not playing on the pro tour. She went on to compete for twelve years and her best finish was fourth place. I had dinner with her not long ago and offered to help her. She told me she could not learn anything from me because I was not playing on the pro tour. She is in lonely conflict. I have a complete class on this subject at the silver level at MMU. Many players are locked in the LC and I would love to help them break through and find their freedom to learn and perform.

Second stage - Warrior Learning
I worked with a brilliant player in his home. He had every book published on this game. On his stack of books, mine were on top. We had a great session. Four years later, he is still playing at the same level. He was quick to report that he had added to his library of knowledge. He is in the Warrior Learning stage. He will not get out of that stage without help. He has decided to stay in that stage and hope for one more book, one more scrap of knowledge, one more workshop to finally give him the game he desires. Learning can be dangerous. Our perceptions control our actions. Knowledge does not become valuable until it is applied.

Third stage - Champion Wisdom
When you can shoot balls with no thought, you have reached the stage where winning becomes second nature. You are in the land of dead stroke. You are shooting balls with your instincts. In a difficult situation you seem to know what to do. Most of these players are good at eight ball or straight pool. They have the ability to do the right thing under pressure. A champion wisdom player seldom gets tired because he is caught up in what is right and good for him. This player will win many tournaments.

Fourth stage - Enlightenment
This player is free to perform. Only an enlightened player can win consecutive tournaments and stay on top year after year. This sport has very few of these players. They have only one value. Winning. If they have won five matches in a row, they are completely unaware of it for they focus on the task at hand as if it is the first thing they have ever done. They have power for they have gone through The Monk 101 Four Points to Power

We are inspired
I am 70 years old. I feel like 30. I look like 60. I act like 20. I am just a big old kid at heart. I LOVE IT !!! When I get down to play I open up a whole new world. I loose myself completely in the joy and intricacies of playing pool. It is with this mind set that I approach my training. The satisfaction I get from observing and feeling my progress boggles my mind! Oh, I hope there are pool tables in Heaven.., no, I just know that there will be some.
I want to become a master of the game, I want to prove to myself that this game has no limits on age, I can do it, I can feel it. I have played pool all my life, have owned 3 tables including a great 6x12 Snooker, I have spent much, much time PLAYING..., now I can finally say that I am starting to LEARN. What Joy! I anticipate the day when I will look at a shot and KNOW in my heart that I will make it. That is my goal. Playing in tournaments and matches will be the icing on the cake, winning will be savoring the nectar. Master, oh master, take me there.

A word to the Masters
When you can measure your ability by the shot you just made, you have arrived at the championship level. You are not defined by the victories you’ve experienced. You are defined by shot you just took. Measure your life by the moment and you will find contentment with whom you are. A pool player shoots shot, a master experiences shots. Lean into your shot and realize this is the most important shot you will ever face in your entire life.

American Airlines is the way to go
I booked five different flights while I was in the States. They were all on American Airlines. I was amazed by the friendly service from each terminal I visited. I just wanted to share that they seem to go out of thier way to help you.
I have not seen service like that in many years from the airline industry.
